Wilmington, OH-based National Bank and Trust tapped Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise for two new servers it deployed to improve the firm’s security and remote connectivity. The new servers were needed because remote network users whose computers weren’t totally secure couldn’t connect to the bank’s network while third-party vendors or auditors were working on-site.

Old Mutual Migrates 15,000 Desktops to Vista To Boost Security and Management

Old Mutual, the largest life assurance business in southern Africa, will migrate 15,000 desktops to Microsoft Windows Vista to take advantage of Vista’s improved security features and other benefits including a step toward the goal of a remotely managed desktop environment. Old Mutual, which bought the AOK automated application compatibility testing tool from ChangeBASE to ensure a smooth migration, is planning to start the migration this month.
